Rubba has worked extensively with different ethnic groups in Africa, formed Ekome Arts and supervised,toured and preformed with Adzido PanAfrican Dance Ensemble before forming Afidance in Bristol. Originally from Jamaica, Rubba will be sharing his great knowledge of traditional African drumming and dance with us in this workshop.
Dancers-come and learn traditional dances of our ancestors.

West African Drumming and Dance Workshop – Come along!!

This promises to be an intensive, energetic and fun dance and drumming workshop. It takes place on Friday 4th & Saturday 5th December in The Bongo Club at 4pm-10pm & 11am-5pm respectively. Each day you can experience 2.5h of drumming & 2.5h of dance with an hour break in between.

Dundunkini Drum & Dance Jump-Up JAM
Dundunkini invites drummers and dancers from all musical backgrounds and persuasions to come and JAM with us on Saturday 7th November at Islington Arts Factory, London.

The afternoon will kick off with a warm-up, led by us. After this, the floor will be opened to all, and everyone who wants to, will be invited to dance and drum with us at another of our jubilant jams. Jam, Jam, Jam!

If you are a beginner, we will teach you some moves, and some beats, ifyou have been doing this for a while, then teach us yours!!! This is anexchange and sharing of what we have, and EVERYONE is WELCOME!

THIS IS DUNDUNKINI'S LAST EVENT FOR THE YEAR, so come out and party with us!

Dancers come Connect with Drummers and Drummers come Connect with Dancers!

£7 for all.

Hans Djembe Workshop in Halesowen nr Birmingham Nov 14th 2009
Drums Aloud are pleased to announce that they have invited Hans Sutton to run a djembe/dundun workshop on Nov 14th 2009. It will be held in the Halesowen Athletic & Cycling Club on Manor Way in Halesowen, just down from J3 of the M5 on the A456 towards Kidderminster. It is REALLY easy to get to.
The class will start at 10am and finish around 5pm and will cost £20 if paid in advance and £25 on the day.
Bring your own lunch.

Drumming For Beginners
AFRICAN DRUMMING WORKSHOPS - CARDIFF

A 10 week course suitable for beginners

Thursdays 7.30 - 9pm

Commencing 1st October, 2009 (or as soon as possible afterwards subject to sufficient numbers)

At St Catherine's Church Hall, Kings Road, Pontcanna, Cardiff

Using authentic West African drums you will learn some basic techniques and a few simple rhythms that are combined to produce a great sound. The emphasis will be on listening to each other and playing together as a group.

Cost for 10 sessions: £65

Advanced booking & payment is essential as there is a limited number of drums available.
