Sabar drum & dance weekend - July 19th & 20th 2008
Modou Diouf will teach drumming and Diene Sagna will teach dance for sabar in Halesowen (south west of Birmingham, very close to J3 of M5).
Cost is £30 for full weekend, or £12 for a 4-hour workshop.

Drumming for beginners in Cardiff
A 10 week course suitable for beginners

Thursdays 7.30 - 9pm

Commencing 13th March (or ASAP subject to numbers).

At St Catherine's Church Hall, Kings Road, Pontcanna, Cardiff

Using authentic West African drums you will learn some basic techniques and a few simple rhythms that are combined to produce a great sound. The emphasis will be on listening to each other and playing together as a group.

Whether you are a drummer, percussionist, singer or dancer you'll find a lot to keep you entertained during the day with a great selection of workshops to attend. As well as the workshops the ticket price includes a 3 hour drum and percussion extravaganza in the evening. You could be performing on stage with your workshop group if you are up for it! If you can't make it during the day for the workshops you can attend just the Evening Show.

Through-out the day top quality catering will be provided in the café in a friendly and festival style atmosphere. There will be a range of stalls selling a range of music and percussion products and Sapphire Moon - Fair Trade Stall. For the evening concert a bar will be available.
